Tarrant County College - South Campus

I'm so glad those people really want to help somebody get their education. Had some setbacks got discouraged but everybody at Tarrant county college really helped me out and got back on track. They were a real blessing and professional.

By far the worst campus of tcc in the area. Rude staff, unhelpfully administration personnel, and above all else, the career students with no job experience are teaching and running departments. Send your kid elsewhere if you want them to get actual advice for their futures. Recommended only for adults who can shrug off bad advice.

The staff continues to do a great job and remains helpful and professional. However, since the change in management, the atmosphere feels less welcoming than before. The warm attitude we once experienced is missing, and small but meaningful amenities such as the coffee machine, coffee, and snacks are no longer available. This is disappointing, especially since we pay to be here—it is not a free service exactly like other TCC Campuses . Other TCC campuses still offer coffee, candy and tea with coffee machines, Coffee and tea are offered in the math lab, science lab, and writing center at other TCC campuses.which highlights the difference. Even basic amenities, such as restroom supplies, seem more limited than they used to be. I hope the new management will consider restoring some of these elements that made the environment more comfortable and supportive.

It would be interesting to see how many students this community college misses out on…. After reading the limited info online which would be perfect for someone who doesn’t already have a career and is probably fresh out of high school. There isn’t a request info option on their website but there is a contact us. This provides the emails of advisors and coordinators of the program so I emailed them. Waited a few days when I didn’t get a response I called TCC South campus. The lady that answered the phone Lydia I believe told me since it’s late into enrollment advisors don’t respond to emails you’ll need to just show up to talk to one. I left work to go speak with an advisor once I got to the campus I eventually found advising after walking into the wrong office. I was told by the help desk if I haven’t already applied I can’t talk to an advisor and any info I wanted was online. That probably works for enrollment…..but not for someone who wants to see the facility and pick the right school before they commit. Hard miss on me and probably thousands of others.

My daughter and I went to the Counselors building today to get information about new students process. One of the ladies there was able to answer my and my daughter's questions. When she left , another lady took over managing the desk but she was so rude !.she said she could only talk to my daughter who was next to me. She said, sorry you cant talk me...She said I needed to bring a legal document allowing her to talk to me.. so how come the other lady didn't have any problems talking to me. Also we went there about a month ago and talked to the success person and she was able to talk to me and my husband without bringing her a legal authorization.
