As a current resident, I am not unhappy with tower 5040 however, I think for the price that I’m paying, there could be a lot of things that are improved. A couple frustrations I have are the amenities such as the pool never being open the elevators, constantly being broken, and the fire alarm in the apartment itself is very sensitive and constantly goes off. We’ve had a few issues this year with the fire alarm in the entire building, going off at midnight and staying on for three hours without the fire fighters being able to turn it off, this also caused the water to go off for almost a whole day, and although the leasing office and management team kept us updated, they only kept us updated about the water situation and not about the fire alarm that was causing comp. Complete chaos. There was also an incident where a homeless man somehow got into the building and was publicly nude in our amenity area, which I would think for the extra price we’re paying for the security we wouldn’t have these problems. I noticed that a lot of the times the building itself is not very secure which I think is outrageous because we pay such a large amount and I think the absolute least I would expect is having a secure facility. On the plus side the maintenance team always works very hard and although they’re only a couple staff members, I think that overall the building itself is quite clean when they’re on duty however, I do notice that they take off during the weekends and since we are in a building full of teenagers and young adults it does get very, very messy and dirty when the maintenance staff is not here and it is only I believe one or two people working so it seems very unfair of them. I have not run into many problems when it comes to billing or any of that in the leasing office at least one of the staff members Maddie is very helpful and very knowledgeable. I felt as if some of the other leasing office. Staff members were more inexperienced and were unable to answer my questions about leasing so I just went to Maddie herself and she was able to clear everything up for me.

A current resident! You would think with the 1300 you’re paying you wouldn’t have any problems. The management is terrible. Elevators rarely work, constant fire alarms, water being cut off. It’s always something with them. Maintenance as well doesn’t do their job properly either. The only convenience is you have your own and bathroom as well as it being near the school.

Out of my 3 years living at Tower 5040, My overall experience living here has been okay, but there are several issues that make it frustrating at times. The fire alarms go off frequently usually at the most inconvenience times like 12 AM, and can stay on for hours, sometimes up to 2–4 hours, which is extremely inconvenient and disruptive. The elevators have been broken multiple times, forcing residents to walk up as many as eight flights of stairs, and the garage also tends to break often which is a big safety concern. On the positive side, the staff and leasing office are very kind and helpful especially Maddie! They do their best to support residents. However, for the price you pay, all of these ongoing issues make the living experience feel below the value you’d expect.

I really like living at Tower 5040! The apartments are modern and comfortable, and the amenities make life so much easier. The front office staff is always welcoming, friendly, and ready to help with anything. Love the free food!

I have lived here for 3 years in total and just moved out! In my opinion, it is still one of the best off campus housing options that’s still near campus and the events. There were still lots of issues, constant fire alarms (some of which lasted 3+ hours), elevators constantly being broken down, the garage gate constantly being broken which leads to stolen tires, visitor parking being super ass, and students being very lazy and nasty leaving their trash in the hallways instead of taking them to the chute. I will say, they upgraded with security and I saw less tire thefts. The office was also very responsive and addressed any issues that I would personally be facing (although when it came to overall property issues, the notifications would be delayed). I never felt physically unsafe at Tower, and would recommend it to someone looking for an apartment close to campus with modern touches, just be prepared to deal with some of the issues I mentioned.
