Absolutely terrible move-out experience with Woodland Hills Apartments. I personally visited the leasing office multiple times to ask about the move-out notice process. I also used the online chat through the resident portal and was specifically instructed to email the Assistant Manager with my move-out notice. Following their instructions, I emailed my notice more than 85 days before my lease ended and have the email records and screenshots proving it. Despite providing clear proof, management later claimed that I never gave proper notice and charged me a large reletting fee. When I brought the evidence to their attention, the Assistant Manager's response was essentially, "I'm new, I don't know." Instead of investigating the issue or honoring the documented notice, they simply refused to listen. To make matters worse, after I moved out, I checked the resident portal and there was no outstanding balance showing. Months later, I was shocked to receive a collections notice. There was no meaningful communication, no attempt to resolve the dispute, and no effort to review the documentation I provided before sending the account to collections. This entire situation has been incredibly frustrating, stressful, and unprofessional. Residents should protect themselves by saving every email, taking screenshots of all communications, and obtaining written confirmation for everything. Based on my experience, even when you follow management's instructions and have proof, they may still deny responsibility and leave you dealing with the consequences. I would not recommend Woodland Hills Apartments based on how my move-out was handled.
