This marks my first full year living at Highcrest, and I genuinely love my life here. I think a big part of that is thanks to the management team—they're more reliable than any other team my friends have dealt with, and they always show up right when I need help. And of course, there’s the Friday free donuts. I’ve actually never gone to get one, but just knowing there are free donuts is pretty cool, haha.

The community is always friendly and I know whatever I need will get done. When you're in a tight spot financially, Cathy is truly the best and will help however she can in terms of late fees. I also enjoy seeing Jacque around the community, and when I locked myself out one night a month or so ago, she was helpful and sweet, even at 12am. I've been here for 3 years now and I love it.

I have lived at Highcrest since 2021 and absolutely love it. Any small issues I have get addressed pretty immediately by maintenance or the office staff. If they are unable to address then they usually find a workaround to help me and I really appreciate it! Work is being done to update the apartments which is always appreciated, and having two dogs can be nerve wracking when I know people are going to be coming in and out, but both Jacque and Cathy are animal lovers and always take into consideration how it affects the animals. The complex always feels super safe and I don’t have any issues with neighbors. Everyone is super friendly and you can tell that the office staff care about the complex. Maintenance is always super friendly and knowledgeable and address any issues pretty immediately. They always keep in mind how things affect their residents and do the best that they can if problems do occur. Rent is affordable, complex is safe, and office staff care and are friendly. There’s nothing better than that when looking for an apartment so I highly highly recommend. The Texas state bus also stops here and the complex is super close to campus so that’s definitely a bonus for the colleges students. There is a good mix of students, families, and single people that make up the demographic of tenants! There is definitely a reason why a lot of the tenants resign if they are able to! Cathy and Jacque always do amazing and respond as fast as they are able to. Cathy has been the manager for years and years- as well as the company being ULColeman- no constant management changes like other apartments! The apartment complex also leads into a really pretty hiking trail!

My roommate and I have lived at Highcrest for 2 years. The first year was one of the best apartment living experiences I have had. Unfortunately this property has gone into new management, and the new team has absolutely zero regard for its tenants. The new Highcrest management team has made unnecessary construction changes throughout the complex with no notice to the people living in the building. They do not care if you have a pet living in your home while they are doing these “updates”, and if you call to let them know that there will be a pet in your home while it is happening, they probably won’t answer. I have in fact struggled to get ahold of the property manager on numerous occasions when needing to reach out for important things. They are often not in the office when they say they will be, and the only phone line goes to the office that they are not in. Property affordability is a huge plus for Highcrest, however they don’t seem to care that their tenants (who live here due to it’s affordable pricing) might have jobs that cause them to work late hours. They don’t bother to think that being woken up at 7:30 in the morning by a construction crew entering your apartment might be an unpleasant and unwelcome living experience. If you had asked me a year ago if I enjoyed living at Highcrest I would have said I would live here for another 10 years. Now I am counting down the days left in my lease to get out of here. Update: after replacing the patio doors to our unit, they left us without a deadbolt to secure our back exit to our unit for two weeks, instead there was a large hole in the door where the deadbolt should have been. Not only does it not comply with Texas rental law to leave us without a deadbolt, the hole in our door allowed many insects into our apartment and we have to deal with the flies. The hole has also caused an increase in our electric bill due to the inefficiency of the air conditioning during these 95 degree days.
